JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION
Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an all India common engineering entrance examination of objective pattern which is conducted for admission in various engineering colleges and courses all over the country. JEE consists of two parts, JEE main and JEE advanced.
JEE MAIN EXAMINATION;-
JEE main examination is for admission to National Institute of Technology (NIT) Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTI) as well as for admission to the dual degree programme of IIEST, Shibpur.
JEE MAIN EXAMINATION has two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates may opt for either one or both of them. Both papers contain multiple choice questions. Paper 1 is for admission to B.E/B.Tech courses. It is conducted both online and offline. Paper 2 is for admission to B.Arch. and B. Planning courses. It is conducted offline only. Paper 1 is of three hours duration and consists of 30 multiple choice questions in each of the three subjects. (Physics, Chemistry and Maths). There is negative mark for incorrect answers. 4 marks are awarded for each correct answer and 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.

JEE ADVANCED EXAMINATION:-
JEE Advanced Examination is for admission to various Indian Institute of Technology(IIT) and Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad. There are some institutes like Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology and Indian Institute of Science(IISc), which use the score obtained in JEE Advanced as the basis for admission.
JEE Advanced Examination has 2 papers, paper 1 and paper 2 of 3 hours duration. Both papers are compulsory. Each question paper will consist of 3 separate sections of Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Question paper will consists of objective type (Multiple Choice and Numerical Answer Type) Questions are designed to test the comprehension, reasoning ability and analytical ability of the candidates.
